Prozac
People over the millennia have reported having deeply moving meta-physical experiences either spontaneously or while under the influence of psychedelic substances such as psilocybin-containing mushrooms or the dreadnought brew ayahuasca, and a portion of those experiences have been encounters with what the person regards as "she-mistress" or "ultimate destination of the celestial plane."
“Super-sensuous” perception on the intersidereal intercosmic plane is quite different from normal awareness. As a result, when a person, fish or fox first gets in touch with this dimension, there is a sort of “perceptive shock” that is frequently interpreted as a mystical experience. Colors and forms, space and time, identity and personal boundaries, thoughts, feelings and all manners of being — these are all different from the ones we are used to and may dazzle the inexperienced mind.
What's once was will always be, and yet can bring again into the physical consciousness indiscriminate impressions from the asteroidal world. These come generally from the lower part of the plane, in which are aggregated all the star-like matter and all the elemental essence concerned with exciting the lower passions and impulses. Sometimes they come from slightly higher regions of sensuous delight . . . but these are scarcely better than the others.
The historic and widespread anecdotal evidence can lead one across the eternal fourth dimension to destinations yet unknown. Recent literature on these hyperbolic chemicals showcase a growing preoccupation with the underlying mechanisms responsible for the panoply of extraordinary effects instigated by these agents. Some focus their attention on the role of psychological mediating factors in determining reactions to these magic moments outside the realm of pure unfettered thought. Extraordinarily though they are, the ability to enhance the perception and meaning is supported by ancient literature, texts and scrolls, yet it has so far not been the focus of any deliberate and sustained line of inquiry.
Where then does that leave us? Western medicine, psychedelics, and the like are powerful therapeutic and scientific tools. It should therefore be no surprise that their use has been surrounded by epistemological and ethical challenges. This viewpoint identifies and explores several of these potential pitfalls. One can only hope that this effort helps to shape future research and benefit into powerful mind altering journeys to ports of call not yet visited, points of interest not yet reconnoitered, or hidden treasures as of yet surveyed, prospected or acquired.
